Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SB 265 -- PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY DISTRICTS

SPONSOR:  Taylor (Wood)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Utilities by a vote of 16 to 0.

Currently, public water supply district boards which are
dependent upon purchases of water to supply their needs are
allowed to sell all or part of their district property to cities
owning waterworks systems. This bill extends that power to all
public water supply districts.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill makes it easier for a
public water supply district to convey their land to a city.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Taylor; Taney City Water
District Number 3; and City of Branson.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
